FizzyWay is a site about making shower steamers, bath bombs, bath soaks and scent blends at home, with plain instructions and honest notes on what goes wrong.
Why this site exists
Store-bought shower steamers often promise a spa and deliver a minute of faint scent. Homemade ones can do much better, but most recipes online skip the parts that decide whether a batch works: how much binder to add and how fast, how long to dry, and why a batch crumbles, cracks or fizzes in the mold. FizzyWay is where we write those parts down.
Who writes the posts
The recipes and guides are researched and written by the FizzyWay team, and published under Owen Whitfield’s byline. We check every recipe against how its ingredients behave: the baking soda to citric acid balance, how much moisture a mix can take before it starts to fizz, how much essential oil a steamer needs to be smelled without irritating skin. We’re making and photographing the recipes ourselves over time, and updating the posts as we do.
About the images
Some images on the site are illustrative and AI-assisted, made to show what each stage should look like. We’ll replace them with our own photos over time.
What we don’t do
We’re not doctors or aromatherapists. Posts about scents for sleep, sinuses or headaches describe a scent and how people like to use it, not a treatment. There are no ads, affiliate links or sponsored posts on FizzyWay right now; the disclosure has the details.
Say hello
If you try a recipe and it crumbles, fizzes early or smells of nothing, tell us. That’s usually how the best updates to these recipes happen. Email contact@fizzyway.com or see the contact page.
